BIO

    Guo, Ke (郭可), PhD in music education with a cognate in ethnomusicology at the University of Washington, school of music, and adjunct professor at South Seattle College.

    She was born in Wuhan, China, and studied applied mathematics at UCLA for her B.S. degree. She obtained her Master of Science from Stanford University and Master of Music from San José State University. Before pivoting into music education and performance, she worked in the consulting and tech industry.

     Her dissertation ​research ​and academic publications ​centers on music education of music in the Sephardic Jewish diaspora, which had taken her to field studies in Israel, Turkey, Iberian Peninsula, and here in Seattle. As a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist​ (piano, flutes, lever harp, frame drums, qanun) in various musical styles​, she is also active in performances at academic conferences, live concerts, and online virtual events.​ 

    郭可,出生于武汉,长大于深圳。华盛顿大学音乐教育和音乐人类学博士,南西雅图大学客座教授,本科毕业于加州大学洛杉矶分校应用数学专业,研究生毕业于斯坦福大学工业工程专业。曾经就职于中国和美国硅谷的咨询,风险投资行业,以及创业孵化器公司。

    博士课题研究方向为塞法迪犹太音乐的世界性传播和跨地域性音乐文化现象。同时也活跃于舞台,从自己开始,实践音乐文化的传播。
